Firozabad: Samajwadi Party (SP) National General Secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav has expressed confidence that the party would return to power in Uttar Pradesh after the 2027 Assembly elections, asserting that SP president Akhilesh Yadav would become the next Chief Minister.
Shivpal Yadav made the remarks while visiting Shikohabad to offer condolences to the family of former MLA Jagdish Singh Yadav following the death of his son and daughter-in-law.
Speaking to the media, the senior SP leader launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that people in the state are struggling with unemployment, rising inflation, and deteriorating law and order. He also accused the ruling party of disregarding democratic values and the Constitution.
Claiming that public dissatisfaction with the government is growing, Shivpal Yadav said the BJP would face defeat in the 2027 Assembly elections, while the Samajwadi Party would secure a clear majority and form the next government in the state.
Commenting on the alleged irregularities in donations to the Ram Temple, he alleged that action had been taken only against lower-level individuals while influential people were being shielded. He said that if any wrongdoing had occurred, action should be taken against all those responsible, irrespective of their position.

On the opposition alliance, Shivpal Yadav clarified that the Samajwadi Party and the Congress continue to remain allies in Uttar Pradesh, indicating that the alliance remains intact ahead of the next Assembly election.
Responding to the proposal by some saints for kar seva related to the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi issue, he said that saints should continue working in the larger public interest.
Shivpal Yadav also reacted to recent remarks made by Om Prakash Rajbhar against the Samajwadi Party, making a sarcastic comment that the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) leader required treatment from “a particular doctor.”
The BJP has not responded to the political allegations made by Shivpal Yadav. His remarks come as political parties in Uttar Pradesh have begun intensifying their outreach and preparations ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
